Maginhawa Street in UP Teacher's Village, QC is a mecca for food junkies. Boyfie and I had been planning a food trip to the so-called "Eat Street" since August; due to our busy schedules, the plan came about a month after. This 3-kilometer street is brimming with restaurants which offer a potpourri of cuisines so it was a big challenge for me to choose which food stores to try. After some research, the 4 restaurants below emerged on top of my list. :)
Brunch: The Breakfast Table
The Breakfast Table is a farm-to-table restaurant which offers breakfast all throughout the day. "Farm-to-Table" (or farm-to-fork) is a restaurant concept wherein food is locally sourced.

The restaurant's interior is predominantly blue and white.
They also offer a Rodizio-style buffet on weekends for Php 395.00. The menu changes weekly, though, based on product availability. On weekdays, customers can build their own breakfast menu.
We decided to order à la carte. I had Eggs And Bacon while Cancio ordered Adobo Omurice. I was supposed to order Eggs TBT which is their version of Eggs Benedict with a Filipino twist. It's topped with Tinapa flakes & drizzled with a Pinoy hollandaise. Unfortunately, they ran out of Tinapa so I settled for Eggs and Bacon which was so good! It's composed of 2 poached eggs, grilled bacon, fried saba, bread pudding, and hollandaise. The sweetness of the fried saba complemented the bacon.
I wasn't able to take a picture of Cancio's order but we loved it as well. The Adobo Omurice is composed of 2 eggs, toasted adobo chunks, adobo rice, and petite salad. It was so good we even planned making our own omurice.
I have to commend their service too. I was expecting the preparation of food to take 20 minutes or so but our orders were given promptly. Their servings were generous also.
Dessert: Wicked Kitchen
Wicked Kitchen is on the 3rd floor of the building where The Breakfast Table is located. We tried 2 of their desserts which are named after the "Seven Deadly Sins." I ordered Gluttony while boyfie had Sloth.
We were disappointed because we had to wait 30 minutes for our desserts. When they were finally served, the vanilla ice cream on top of our desserts were melted already. :(
Sloth: Chocolate Molten Lava Cake served with a Scoop of Ice Cream. (Php 178.00)
Gluttony: Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie with a Scoop of Ice Cream and Chocolate Syrup.
(Php 155.00)
I don't have a sweet tooth so I'm not the best judge for a dessert but gluttony was saccharine for me. I ordered single but it's already good for 2. Cancio had the same opinion about his lava cake.

The Antiteasis: Books and Brews is a cozy place to unwind with friends. They have a mini library and board games which are best enjoyed over cups of tea, coffee, and pastries. Some of the books on display are for sale too. Just look for the sticker and you can head straight to the cashier.

Bookworms will surely love it here.
We plopped down on the floor which was smothered with fluffy pillows. I loved their table which is actually a tea cargo box. When we ordered tea, we were handed an Ipad which serves as their menu.

We ordered French Pressed Coffee (Php65.00), Lemon Square(Php 25.00), &
Brownies(Php 25.00). We also got this board game which we didn't know how to play. Haha.
The downside of this place, though, is that seats are very limited. 3 groups and 2 people can be accommodated. We had to wait before we were able to sit on that snug corner. Mind you, waiting hours could take long.
We sat here while waiting for some floor seats to be vacated.
Gringotts bank as a tip jar. Cool! :)
Dinner: Gayuma ni Maria
This quirky restaurant has a creepy-romantic vibe. We went there during dinner so it wasn't really appealing from the outside. Had I not read about it, I wouldn't have recommended this to boyfie. The love-themed restaurant is kinda risqué so it's not really family-friendly.
We ordered from their menu which is outlandish as the restaurant's motif. We couldn't help laughing when we said our orders. Hihi.
I ordered Chinoy in 7th Heaven which is fried chicken obra gently simmered in a concoction of Chinese herbs with heavenly rice mix. Cancio ordered Rock Me Baby, hickory barbecue pork ribs served with mashed potatoes.
I roamed around the resto while waiting for our orders. They have tarot card reading but the reader was not around when we visited. They also have a naughty nook where sex toys and aphrodisiacs were on display. Felt so awkward to be near those things. Haha.

The second floor serves as a function room where you can sit on the floor with low tables and fluffy pillows. This is also where the rest room is located.

Chinoy in 7th Heaven(Php255.00), Rock Me Baby(Php 265.00), Garlic Rice (Php50.00), and Mango Shake(Php85.00) to end the night.
Gayuma ni Maria is best known for their desserts which, unfortunately, we were not able to try because we were too bloated already.
We went home happy and satiated. I'm pretty sure there will be a part 2! :)
