One fine Saturday morning, Cancio and I decided to eat at Stacy's which has long been in my list of restos to try. You see, I'm a sucker for retro diners. ;)
Stacy's is the brainchild of Angelique Castro and Abby Nachura. Angelique is a prop stylist for the women's magazine Working Mom while Abby is the head of Del Monte Test Kitchen. The restaurant is inspired by Angelique's grandmother, Stacy, who is known for her excellent cooking.
The resto has 2 branches. The main branch is at Capitol Greenstreet and there's another one in BGC. We opted for the latter.
As soon as we entered, it felt like we were inside a doll house. The staff greeted us amicably and buoyantly asked for our orders.
We were given a mug of complementary knick knacks to munch on while waiting for the food. Who would've thought strawberry pretzels would go well with buttered popcorns and marshmallows?

Our mug of sweet treats
Cancio ordered Stacy Jones which is the resto's best seller. I don't eat beef tapa so I'm not the best judge. Cancio said the tapa was fairly good. We loved the scrambled eggs, though. It's fluffy and creamy. We were guessing how they cooked it so we can make our own version. Haha.

"Tender yakiniku cut US beef sirloin tapa smothered with loads of fried garlic, served with anyway you like 'em eggs, caramelized tomatoes and roasted garlic rice"
I had Texas Barbecue Ribs which was delectable. The meat's tender and the barbecue sauce is to die for.

"Slow cooked and oh-so-tender country style ribs, generously glazed with their very own lip smacking barbecue sauce served with herbed rice and buttered corn kernels"
Their servings of viands and rice were surprisingly hefty. The heart-shaped rice is the cutest!
We also ordered Triple Choco Milkshake. It's your typical chocolate shake topped with oreo. It was ok. Wish they used a plastic straw instead. First few sips and I couldn't use the paper straw anymore.

They also offer cakes and pastries.
I couldn't concentrate on eating because I kept ogling at the cutesy decorations of the place.
Angelique's love of art is visible in the ornamental trinkets adorning the place.

I'd love to have these colorful aprons in my kitchen. ;)

Lovin' that pink ref.
This pink telephone and candy jar will surely catch your attention.

The young and young-at-heart would definitely love this corner.

If it weren't too sunny, I would've picked this spot for the 2 of us. Imagine how awkward it would be for boyfie. Haha.

Even the rest room is cute as a button.
They gave us some complementary butter ball candies when they handed our change.
The only downside of this place is that the tables are seated closely next to each other that you could hear the jabbers from other customers. The place is apparently not ideal for a tête–à–tête.
Nevertheless, I'm giving Stacy's 4 out of 5 stars! :) Will definitely come back when I'm feeling blue and needing a pick-me-up.
