It's that time of the year again when Filipino bibliophiles from all walks of life gather to celebrate the joys of reading. :) The 36th Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) is the biggest and longest running book expo in the country. It was held from September 16-20, 2015 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City.
Though I'm a certified bookworm, this is actually my first time to join a book fair. Thanks to my office mate who gave me a free admission pass.
The admission pass costs Php 20.00.
For students, teachers, and senior citizens, ticket is Php 15.00.

Headed straight to Starbucks to check out my haul :) |
Then again, I'm pretty much satisfied with my book haul. ;)
This classic novel costs Php 79.20.
This was not included in our literature class so I'm reading it now for leisure.
|
Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility for Php 79.20.
After Pride and Prejudice, this was on my list.
|
Sherlock Holmes Novel for Php 207.20.
I was hesitant to buy this book at first; but as soon as I placed it back on the shelf, someone snatched (Yeah, I'm using this word. Haha) it and put it in her stash of books. That was the last book, though, so I was really rueful. When I saw her return it, I knew that was my lucky day. Haha.
|
Php 180.00 for a compendium of Poe's writings.
I've been hunting a complete collection of Edgar Allan Poe's stories and poems but it's really elusive so I settled for this one. The search is still on.
|
Alcott's popular novel for Php 79.20.
I'm suddenly into classic books these days.
|
The World's Greatest Unexplained Mysteries for Php 196.00.
Mystery is the genre I relish the most especially if there's a grain of truth in it.
|
Besties for Php 195.00
This is the only book I bought which was not on sale. It was merely on impulse. Probably, to balance my reading list. Most are classic books, as you may have noticed. I've finished this book and I'm glad I bought it. I'm still a kikay, after all.

There was also a book signing event where I saw an office mate lining up to meet and greet Colleen Hoover (author of Slammed and Maybe Someday). Along with Hoover are other international authors such as Cristine Brae (The Light in the Wound), Tarryn Fisher (The Opportunist), and Kiera Cass (The Selection). There were also talks, conferences, games and giveaways, workshops, and mascot visits.
I kinda enjoy the book fair so I'm looking forward to next year's. :)
